London…..again

Walkie Talkie

We find ourselves in London…again.  This is definitely not by accident; and it is our favorite “city”.  The photo shows an addition that has been added since our last visit.  Affectionately called the “walkie-talkie” by locals this is actually 21 Fenchurch.  It has a lovely novelty on the top floors know as the Sky Garden.  It is most assuredly a modern miracle but also a classic example of what London has become.  London is an odd, sometimes weird, mix of old and new.  Fenchurch is definitely in the new category but has become one of the cities favorite places.

Christmas on the River

CoR_2.jpgAfter arriving in London and settling in at the flat we decided to explore the South Bank. Along the  Thames River is the Tate Modern Museum, the Globe Theatre and a great Christmas market called Christmas on the River. There were shops, food and entertainment up and down the river. We only lasted a few hours since there was not much sleeping on the plane but we will be ready for more tomorrow.

Travel Day

December 19, 2017

Today has been all about being on the go. I did go to work for the morning, Don was irritated, but I knew that I would be way to excited, nervous and generally hyped up to stay at home. I was packed, I was awake, might as well go to work.

We made it to the airport in NWA just fine and according to the text the kids made it back home successfully. My concern was they would get lost….they both replied “Mom, we have Google.” Yes they have Google and yes they are more grown up that I realize sometimes.

As I write this I am waiting in the Atlanta Airport for the long part of our journey. I can’t help but think about Emily. Her goal is to take this same trip in about 18 months. Don and I watched a group young ladies, obviously friends, laughing and relaxing before a flight. Not a care in the world. Our hope is Emily enjoys her adventure as much as we will!

Next time we get on-line will be in London!

Night all!
